After a 10 day dry dock in the Bahamas, which was completed in May, Princess Cruises’ ship, Crown Princess, is now ready for her summer 2018 Mediterranean debut with upgraded features. The refurbishment is part of the Princess Cruises’ “Come Back New” campaign across the fleet.

In addition new luxury beds  created exclusively for Princess (a feature that is being rolled out across the fleet), the ship has been upgraded and refreshed in areas such as outdoor dining, activities for the kids, the casino, spa and fitness areas, and more.

Dining

Four outdoor venues have been refreshed, complete with name changes to reflect their upgrades.

The Salty Dog Grill

Formerly The Trident Grill, this dining spot features those signature, 100 percent all-beef Princess burgers, which are served on fresh-baked  buns. Guests can also choose the new Street Tacos made with grilled chipotle-lime chicken or roasted sweet potato-green chile , If you want to upgrade to “The Ernesto” burger (for a small added charge), that’s available here, too. “The Ernesto” was voted “#1 Burger at Sea” by Cruise Critic.

Slice

This onboard pizzeria was previously called “Prego Pizzeria.” In addition to Neapolitan-style pizza  (voted “Best Pizza at Sea” by USA Today), new items have been added to the menu: Deep Dish Focaccia layered with marinara, meatballs and cheese, California Artisanal Toast including Cali-Avocado or Caprese, as well as Sliced Stromboli, an east coast take on an Italian calzone filled with deli meats and cheese.

Coffee and Cones

The Sundaes Ice Cream bar became Coffee and Cones. This specialty food venue offers complimentary ice cream cones, gourmet ice cream sandwiches, and freshly brewed specialty coffee.

The Mix is a poolside bar, formerly known as The Mermaid’s Tale.

Other features added, upgraded, or refreshed across the ship include:

Club Class Mini-Suites

This is a new, premium stateroom category that has been added during the ship’s upgrade. Guests who book these suites will enjoy VIP amenities and exclusive dining, plus the new Club Class Dining, which is a reserved dining area with expedited seating and expanded menu options. Priority embarkation and disembarkation are also added benefits to this stateroom category.

Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center

Camp Discovery, for cruisers ages 3-17, which was created in partnership with Discovery™, is part of the cruise line’s Discovery at SEA program. New, age-appropriate activities have been designed for specific age groups, in which kids will discover, create and play, while making new onboard friends.

These upgrades are part of Princess Cruises’ continuing effort to keep the line fresh for today’s cruisers.
